What are Cascara's Health Benefits?

Antioxidants

Based on the ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) value, Cascara is a whopping 78 times higher in antioxidants than blueberries and pomegranates, making it the 4th highest antioxidant rich super fruit studied according to the 2018 ORAC Scale. Cascara's form of antioxidants is chlorogenic acid derived from polyphenols, which have been known to:

- Support normal blood pressure

- Reduce inflammation

- Protect your skin

- Fight free radicals

Studies suggest that long term consumption of diets rich in plant polyphenols may offer protection against the development of cancers, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, osteoporosis, and neurodegenerative diseases. (Source: Pandey KB and RIzvi Sl.)

Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor

Now.. this term might sound unfamiliar. So we'll make it easy for you. BDNF supports the growth of new neurons and synapsis in the brain. So essentially, the more BDNF the better the brain gets! Higher BDNF levels have been known to: - Slow brain aging - Improve mood - Improve memory - Supports brain pathways to grow (hence helping you learn faster!)

Low Caffeine

For those caffeine-addicts out there, this one's for you. 1 cup of our cascara tea contains only 25% of the caffeine you'd normally find in a cup of coffee. So if you need some boost but worry about the high levels of caffeine in your coffee, drink our Cascara Tea! A pro tip: you can still say that you're drinking coffee, cause technically it is coffee, just healthier and bringing positive impact to the world ;)
