Carapace was started by three sisters. One had entrepreneurial know-how, another had professional beverage fermentation experience, and the other had a strong belief in bringing good to the world. 

It begins with Cascara. 40% of the whole coffee cherry is wasted in coffee production, so we thought, how good would it be to upcycle them into a healthy tea alternative? Seeing the growth of coffee consumption and production in Indonesia, we experimented with several coffee cherry varieties from local farms to create a refreshing tea from this superfruit.

We knew that healthy could also be tasty and easy. After all, we had been making homebrew beverages for a while, hence our Kombucha and Kefir lines.

 

Taking the first step towards a healthier lifestyle can be a bit overwhelming to some, so we hoped that Carapace can help them keep up the pace.
